Current Facility Problems

  • Built in 1967 to meet the needs of the community and department at that time
  • Despite ongoing maintenance facility continues to deteriorate
  • Needs costly repairs
  • Undersized
  • Inadequate training facilities
  • Expansion is not cost effective

  • Built for the current and future needs of the community
  • Properly house and protect fire equipment and apparatus to insure protection of the community
  • Serves as an evacuation center for the community in times of natural disasters and extended power outages
  • Allows for proper training space to further train and develop skills of firefighters allowing for better protection of the community
  • Larger Facility allowing for community based functions, services and activities
  • Energy Star building-saving on overall energy costs to the community
  • Phase one to help community revitalize the Route 4 corridor in Center Rutland
